Executive Summary:
The City was awarded and obligated $1,267,092 in funding from Federal Fiscal Year 2024, $416,070, Fiscal Year 2025, $429,865 and Fiscal Year 2026, $421,157 of Section 5339 Bus/Bus Facilities Urbanized funds by US Department of Transportation.
Federal funds and match amounts for bus replacement were budgeted as part of the FY27 budget.
Council needs to accept the awarded grant.
Background:
The FTA provides federal grant funding to support eligible public transportation projects including the Section 5339 Bus and Bus Facilities Formula Program. These funds will be used to purchase 2 buses for fixed route service.
Council acceptance is necessary to ensure the timely and efficient use of available federal funds.

No additional impacts to General Fund.
Options:
1)Accept grant NC-2026-066.
2) Do not accept grant NC-2026-066 and provide further guidance to staff.
