Executive Summary:
Staff has provided a proposed 2027 City Council Meeting Dates Calendar. The calendar also identifies Council budget work sessions, and conferences for elected officials.
The proposed calendar shows the Monday, September 7, 2026, Work Session moved to Tuesday, September 8, 2026, due to the observance of Labor Day.
During the October Work Session, consensus of Council was to move the October and November Work Sessions from the first Monday to the first Thursday (October 7, 2027 and November 4, 2027.
Background:
To ensure that citizens are aware of all public meetings and events and that the City adheres to the NC Open Meetings Act. Staff has prepared the attached 2027 City Council Meeting Dates Calendar. The calendar takes into account all of the City holidays, and conferences identified by staff.
