Executive Summary:

The City is leasing the property located at 3811 Sycamore Dairy Road for the Central District Office of the Police Department. The current lease is for a building containing approximately 7,000 square feet.  The lease will expire on June 30, 2026, and the City would like to continue leasing the building and enter into a new five-year agreement adding a 192 square feet building for storage.

 

Background: 

The Police Department is divided into three separate patrol districts to facilitate faster responses to calls for service and better serve the City. The City has leased the Central District Office located at 3811 Sycamore Dairy Road since July 1, 2016.  In 2021, the City entered into a new lease that will expire June 30, 2026.  The City would like to remain in the space and enter into a new agreement with a five-year term.  The new lease will include the 7,000 square feet building and add a 192 square feet storage building.  The rent will be $9,385.00 monthly with an approximate 1.5% increase annually during the term of the lease.

None

 

Budget Impact: 

The annual lease cost of $112,620.00 along with the operational and staff costs has been included in the budget.

    

Options

                     Adopt the Resolution, approve the lease agreement and authorize the City Manager to execute the lease on behalf of the City.

                     Deny the request.

Staff recommends that City Council adopt the Resolution and approve the lease agreement authorizing the City Manager to execute the lease on behalf of the City.
