Bids were received for the purchase of Substation Disconnect Switches. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in the best interest of PWC is Royal Switchgear, Bessemer, AL, in the total amount of $247,046.00.
Background:
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission, during their meeting on August 28, 2024, approved the award for the purchase of Substation Disconnect Switches to Royal Switchgear, Bessemer, AL, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in the best interest of PWC, in the total amount of $247,046.00. The Commission also approved to forward this recommendation to City Council for approval.

Issues/Analysis:
The bid notice was advertised through our usual channels on July 9, 2024, with a bid opening date of July 25, 2024. Bids were solicited from three (3) vendors, and four (4) bids were received. The award is recommended to Royal Switchgear, Bessemer, AL, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. PWC Procurement and Electric Support Systems Departments request to reject the bids received from MindCore Technologies, Southern Electrical Equipment Company, Inc., Southern States, LLC, as these bidders’ submittals were not conforming to PWC bid submittal requirements.

The Fayetteville Public Works Commission recommends the Fayetteville City Council approve the bid recommendation to award the contract for the purchase of Substation Disconnect Switches to Royal Switchgear, Bessemer, AL, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, in the best interest of PWC, in the total amount of $247,046.00 and authorize the CEO and General Manager of the Fayetteville Public Works Commission to execute for that purpose the contract for its purchase.
