Goal 4: Desirable Place to Live, Work and Recreate
Executive Summary:
The Council is asked to adopt Capital Project Ordinance 2025-18 to appropriate $59,918 for the purchase of replacement paratransit scheduling software. The funding sources for this appropriation are $47,934 of Federal Transit Administration grant funding and $11,984 of local funding provided by the Transit Operating Fund.
Background:
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded grant NC-2024-040-00 to the City of Fayetteville for the purchase of replacement paratransit scheduling software. This project will enhance and improve the paratransit customer experience with a more efficient software with enhanced scheduling capabilities. The software currently utilized is outdated and does not recognize the newly built retail and residential areas of the Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) Urbanized Area. In addition, the reporting capabilities of the current software do not meet the FTA National Transit Database reporting requirements.
Issues/Analysis:
None.
Budget Impact:
None. The required match was included in the FY2025 adopted budget.
Options:
1) Adopt Capital Project Ordinance 2025-18.
2) Do not adopt Capital Project Ordinance 2025-18 and provide further guidance to staff.
Recommended Action:
Staff recommends that Council move to adopt Capital Project Ordinance 2025-18 to appropriate funding for the paratransit scheduling software.
