Background:
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission, during the meeting on May 13,2026, approved the purchase award for the Water Treatment and Water Reclamation Chemicals Annual Contract Year 2026 and forward to City Council for approval.
Bids were received April 29, 2026:


Issues/Analysis:
The Commission is asked to approve multiple awards for purchase of water treatment and water reclamation chemicals. Notice of the bid was advertised through PWC’s normal channels on April 2, 2026, with a bid opening date of April 29, 2026. Bids were solicited from sixteen (16) vendors and PWC received sixteen (16) bids. Bidders were not required to bid on each chemical. The lowest responsive, responsible bidders were also the apparent low bidders. The total cost set forth herein is an estimate derived from the applicable unit prices. Actual chemical usage may vary from projected quantities, and therefore, the final total cost shall be adjusted upward or downward based on the actual quantities utilized during the term of the agreement. SDBE / SLS Participation Sixteen (16) bids were received in response to the solicitation. All bidders indicated their intent to self-perform the work. None of the responding bidders qualify as small, local, or Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (SDBE).

Recommended Action::Recommended Action
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission recommends that City Council approve the purchase award for Water Treatment and Water Reclamation Chemicals Annual Contract Year 2026 and each contract may be extended for an additional one-year period upon the agreement of both parties, and authorize the CEO and General Manager of the Fayetteville Public Works Commission to execute for that purpose the contract for its purchase.
