Relationship To Strategic Plan:

Goal 4: The City of Fayetteville will be a highly desirable place to live, work and recreate with thriving neighborhoods and a high quality of life for all residents.

Executive Summary:

Stewart Engineering made the revision to the Center City Parks & Trail Master Plan to include a trail that will provide access to Mazarick Park /Glenville Lake and Murchison Corridor.  Recommendation is to approve the updates to the Center City Parks & Trail Master Plan.

Background:

The Center City Parks & Trails Plan was developed in partnership between the Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Division, Development Services, and the Linear Park Committee. The plan was developed with Stewart Engineering and encompasses previous planning with future development. The study centers on the downtown area, extending north to Langdon Street, west to Glenville Ave, east to Dunn Road, and south to Campbell Terrace Road.

Issues/Analysis:

The City is currently working with the Fayetteville Public Works Commission to update the City’s Water Supply Watershed Management and Protection Ordinance (Chapter 29) to be more in line with updates from NCDEQ’s WSW Model Ordinance with respect to Authority and General Regulations, Subdivision Regulations, Development Regulations, Public Health Regulations, and Administration Enforcement and Appeals for areas which lie within the designated Water Supply Watershed limits.

Budget Impact:

This project has not been funded yet.
