Relationship To Strategic Plan:

Goal IV - Desirable Place to Live, Work and Recreate

Objective 4.1 - To maintain public transportation investments with high quality transit

and airport services

Executive Summary:

The Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY) goal is to attract and retain aviation business. The approval of two legacy carriers will allow travelers to have air access. Both legacy carriers have direct connections to major hubs to include Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA.

Council is asked to approve the airline use agreements and authorize the City Manager to execute the commercial service agreements.

Background:

FAY acts as a welcoming gateway to the Sandhills region, focusing on providing convenient, stress-free travel, modern comfort, and Southern hospitality. The airport supports the community and economy by offering commercial flights, serving military personnel, and aiming to expand international, business, and leisure travel opportunities.

Issues/Analysis:

None.

Budget Impact:

All revenues generated from air carriers will remain with the Airport Operating Fund, and there will be no impact to the City of Fayetteville General Fund.
