Relationship To Strategic Plan:
Goal IV: The City of Fayetteville will be a desirable place to live, work, and recreate.
Executive Summary:
I envision staff exploring the feasibility of allowing double axle trailers in the front yards of residential properties. It is my hope that Article 30-4, Section D, Subsection 3(t)(3)(b) would be amended to allow trailers to park in the front yard and/or the comer side year. Additionally, I would like for Article 30-4, Section D, Subsection 3(t)(2) to remove the description of trailers with more than one axle.
Background:
This will support residents who rely on trailers for their livelihood making equipment more accessible for daily work, eliminate the need to rent off-site storage. Some residential properties may not have rear yard access, wide driveways and/or adequate side yard space. This will also reduce on street parking conflicts while supporting equity for working class residents.
