Executive Summary:
At the May 13, 2026, City Council Policies Review Committee meeting a motion was made with unanimous approval to change the start time of the Work Sessions from 3:00 p.m. back to 2:00 p.m.
At the May 26, 2026, City Council Meeting Council voted unanimously to move this item to a future work session for further discussion.
During the August 3, 2026, Work Session, consensus of Council was to approve the Work Session start time from 3:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Council Members Ferguson, Jones, and McMillan were opposed to the consensus motion.
Background:
City Council approved the 2026 City Council Meeting Dates Calendar by Resolution (R2025-038) during the October 27, 2025, Council Meeting. At the February 9, 2026, Regular Council Meeting a motion was made to change the work session start time from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The motion passed 8-2 with Council Members Davis and McMillan in opposition.
