Executive Summary:

The purpose of this plan is to identify, assess, and mitigate risk to better protect the people and property of the Cumberland-Hoke Region from the effects of natural and man-made hazards. This plan documents the hazard mitigation planning process and identifies relevant hazards and strategies the participating communities will use to decrease vulnerability and increase resiliency and sustainability. This plan demonstrates the participating communities’ commitment to reducing risks from identified hazards and serves as a tool to help decision-makers direct mitigation activities and resources. This plan will ensure the involved communities’ continued eligibility for federal disaster assistance, including the HMGP, PDM, and FMA programs.

 

Background: 

The Cumberland-Hoke Hazard Mitigation Plan, is a regional plan paid for through the State of North Carolina to address threats and hazards that may affect all of Cumberland and Hoke County.
