Executive Summary:
City Council must appoint individual(s) to serve as deputy tax collectors for the City. The attached resolution appoints employees within the Finance Department, specifically the Collections Division Supervisor and Accounting Technicians, as deputy tax collectors to assist with the collection of City taxes and assessments.
Background:
The City’s Finance Department is responsible for collecting certain taxes and assessments, including but not limited to privilege license taxes, paving, lot demolition, and cleaning assessments. To support these collection activities, the City periodically appoints the Collections Division Supervisor and Accounting Technicians within the Collections Division from the Finance Department to serve as deputy tax collectors. Upon appointment an Oath of Office is taken by the employees.
Issues/Analysis:
The appointments are administrative in nature and ensure continuity and efficiency in collection of City revenues.

None.

1. Adopt the resolution appointing deputy tax collectors.
2. Do not adopt the resolution appointing deputy tax collectors. Provide guidance to staff.
