Executive Summary:
The City has been awarded an $8,500 Arts Education grant from The Arts Council of Fayetteville & Cumberland County for the Orange Street School's Music Lab. This grant will be used to provide music instruction and for marketing of the related programs available at Orange Street School. Staff is seeking authorization to accept the grant award and adoption of Budget Ordinance Amendment 2026-2 to appropriate the grant funding.
Background:
The Arts Council of Fayetteville & Cumberland County's Project Support Grants support programs and activities that promote the arts within Cumberland County. Eligible programs such as the Orange Street School Music Lab produce arts, culture and history-focused content through an artistic discipline such as arts education and innovative mediums.

Budget Impact:
There will be no impact to the General Fund fund balance.
Options:
City Council moves to authorize staff to accept the grant from The Arts Council of Fayetteville & Cumberland County and adopt Budget Ordinance Amendment 2026-2 to appropriate the $8,500 in funding.
City Council does not move to authorize acceptance of the grant or adopt the Budget Ordinance Amendment.
