Relationship To Strategic Plan:
Goal IV: Desirable place to live, work and recreate.
Executive Summary:
Capital Project Ordinance Amendment 2021-57 will appropriate a $4600.00 donation intended for the Center City Parks & Trail signage project.
Background:
The current budget for the Linear Park project is $2,179,070. If approved, the revised budget will be $2,183,670. The City of Fayetteville has received a $4,600 donation from Dr. Wayne Riggins to further support the Center City Parks and Trail Signage Project.
The Center City Parks and Trail Signage Project is already funded and underway; however, Dr. Riggins has expressed a desire to contribute additional resources to enhance the project's overall impact. His donation will supplement existing project funds and help expand or improve signage elements throughout the Center City parks and trail system.
The project is intended to improve wayfinding, increase accessibility, and provide residents and visitors with better information regarding park amenities, trail connections, and points of interest. Enhanced signage will contribute to a more welcoming and user-friendly experience for all who utilize the City's parks and trails.
The donated funds will be incorporated into the ongoing Center City Parks and Trail Signage Project and utilized as needed to support project goals and related improvements at the direction of City staff.
