Relationship To Strategic Plan:
Goal 1: Safe & Secure Community
Goal 4: Desirable Place to Live, Work & Recreate

Executive Summary:
Staff seeks Council approval of demolition ordinances for one commercial structure and three residential structures that have been determined to be dangerous.

Background:
As part of the City's continued efforts to address blight and protect neighborhood safety, several long-standing nuisance properties have recently been successfully demolished one commercial and two residential structures 850 Van Dyke Place, 2443 Hope Mills Road, and the highly visible structure at 206 Campbell Avenue.
The removal of these deteriorated and unsafe buildings represents a significant step toward eliminating public nuisances that negatively impact surrounding neighborhoods. Most notably, the demolition at 206 Campbell Ave. addresses a prominently located structure that had been a source of concern for residents and passersby alike.
These actions demonstrate the City's commitment to improving neighborhood conditions, reducing blight, and restoring confidence in the quality and safety of our community spaces.
