Executive Summary:
The City of Fayetteville's current Public Safety Answering Point, or 911 Center, is located in City Hall. The existing facility is experiencing space constraints that limit its ability to accommodate the additional staff needed to manage the significant increase in service calls.
The City has identified two parcels located off Aviation Parkway, consisting of approximately 11.8 acres and 3.21 acres, as a viable location for a new facility that will support future growth and provide the additional capacity needed for future operations. The 2022 Public Safety Bond will be used to cover the total purchase cost of $801,151.
On April 13, 2026, staff presented a briefing to City Council regarding the due diligence activities required before acquiring the two parcels. These activities have now been completed and include an appraisal confirming market value, an appraisal review confirming the accuracy of the appraisal, an Environmental Site Assessment with no concerns identified for the proposed use of the property, and a title search confirming clear ownership.
All findings support the City's interest in proceeding with the property acquisition. The parcels are owned by Rogers and Breece, Inc., and the combined purchase price is $799,000. The City has paid an option fee of $2,500, which will be deducted at closing.
