Goal 4: Desirable Place to Live, Work and Recreate
Goal 5: Financially Sound City Providing Exemplary City Services

Executive Summary:
The Council is requested to approve and authorize the execution of a one-year contract with Pratt Recycling, Inc, for Recycling Material Recovery Facility Services.

The approximate annual cost for recycling processing is approximately $905,313 a year.

Background:
The City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Services and subsequently received proposals from interested vendors. Following evaluation of the proposals, the City determined that the selected contractor was the most qualified and responsible proposer to provide MRF services.

On June 21, 2023, the City and the contractor Pratt Recycling, Inc, executed an agreement for Material Recovery Facility Services, with services commencing on July 1, 2023. The agreement established an initial three-year term ending on June 30, 2026, and included the option to extend the contract for up to two additional one-year terms upon mutual written agreement of the parties.

As the initial term approaches its expiration, the City and the contractor Pratt Recycling, Inc, have agreed to exercise the first of the two available one-year extension options. The extension will continue services under the existing agreement from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Upon approval of this extension, one remaining one-year extension option will remain available under the agreement.
