Relationship To Strategic Plan:
Goal I: Safe and Secure Community
Goal III: City Investment in Today and Tomorrow

Executive Summary:
Fire Station No. 4 is an 18,442 SF commercial public safety facility proposed to be constructed at 4210 Bragg Boulevard, approximately 0.5 mile NW of the intersection of Bragg Boulevard and Sycamore Dairy Road. This new fire station will replace existing Fire Station No. 4, located at 406 Stamper Road, and provide enhanced service and response time to a larger area of the City via additional equipment apparatus and its strategic location on Bragg Boulevard. Construction is scheduled to begin in July with an estimated construction duration of fourteen months.

The low bidder for the project is W.B Brawley Company with a base bid amount of $8,848,831. Allowances and alternates that may be added to the project pending available funding result in a total project bid of $9,442,777.

Background:
Existing Fire Station No. 4 was constructed in 1960. Population expansion and equipment technology advances necessitate the replacement of this dated facility with a state-of-the-art new fire station capable of providing enhanced services and faster response time. The new station will be constructed with three (3) apparatus bays and support facilities to enhance the City's public safety capabilities.

Issues/Analysis:
Only one (1) bid was received for this project. Given the current construction climate, the base bid listed below is over budget:
