Executive Summary:
The Arts Council of Fayetteville - Cumberland County has awarded the City of Fayetteville $5,000 to support the 2026 Independence Concert and Fireworks event. The award contributed to a partnership with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra to provide a free outdoor concert that was open and accessible to the public. Council is asked to authorize acceptance of the award and adopt Budget Ordinance Amendment 2027-5 to appropriate the funds.

Background:
The Arts Council of Fayetteville - Cumberland County has offered to provide financial support to artistic programming during the annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks event. The partnership with the City contributes to the enhancement of public exposure to the arts, culture and history-focused content through an artistic discipline such as symphonic music provided by the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra.
