Goal 5: Financially Sound City Providing Exemplary City Services

Executive Summary:

Council is asked to adopt Budget Ordinance Amendment (BOA) 2026-6 to appropriate $48,589 from the General Fund for the unanticipated increase in costs of the 2025 Municipal Election.

Background:

The budget for the municipal election was based on previous years as well as only having one early voting site. The State Board of Elections approved three early voting sites for the 2025 Municipal Election. This caused a significant increase beyond the budgeted $270,000.

As of March 2, 2026, the election budget had a total of $266,779 available with the total cost of the election being $315,368.
