Executive Summary:
City Council is asked to authorize the Mayor to execute an amendment to the City’s FY 2024 Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) agreement, extending the grant period through June 30, 2027. The grant supports homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, and street outreach services through local nonprofit partners, and the extension will allow the City to complete activities already underway and fully expend the remaining federal funds.
Background:
HUD awarded the City $155,374 in FY 2024 ESG funds to support homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, and street outreach services through local nonprofit partners. The original period of performance began September 20, 2024, and was scheduled to end September 20, 2026.
This was the City’s first ESG entitlement allocation, and the City did not have advance notice sufficient to establish the program before the funding became available.
