Relationship To Strategic Plan:
Goal 4: The City of Fayetteville will be a highly desirable place to live, work and recreate with thriving neighborhoods and a high quality of life for all residents.

Executive Summary:
The FY 2018 Operating Budget provides funding for FAST to begin providing transit services, fixed route and ADA complementary paratransit, on Sunday beginning in November 2017. Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant provisions and transit policy require the public have opportunity to comment on any major service change. In order to proceed with Sunday service implementation in a timely manner, Council needs to approve the Sunday service routes in early August.

Staff requests Council set a public hearing related to establishing Sunday service routes for the regularly scheduled meeting on August 14, 2017.

Background:
Policies require the public have opportunity to comment on all major service changes. Staff requests Council set a public hearing for August 14, 2017 to receive comments on the Sunday service routes proposed and funded in the FY 2018 Operating Budget.

Notices for the hearing will be published in newspapers, on buses and at the transit center. These notices will be available in both English and Spanish versions. Other translations will be made upon request in accordance with Transit's Limited English Proficiency Plan (LEP).

Staff also plans to schedule other informational meetings and open house meetings in advance of the public hearing to give opportunity to citizens to learn and comment about the proposed ten route service plan.
