Executive Summary:
The Council is asked to approve award of a contract for the purchase of twenty-four (24) 2018 Dodge Police Charger unmarked vehicles.
Background:
Formal bids for the purchase of twenty-four (24) 2018 Dodge Police Charger unmarked vehicles were opened on August 15, 2017. Bids received are as follows:
$656,096.40 Performance Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Clinton, NC
$662,664.00 John Hiester Chrysler Dodge Jeep, LLC, Lillington, NC
$695,736.00 Hall’s Automotive, Virginia, VA
$704,976.00 Lafayette Ford, Fayetteville, NC
$707, 400.00 Ilderton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, High Point, NC

Budget Impact:
The City plans annually for equipment and vehicle replacement as part of the Capital Budget process. Vehicles are replaced based on age, mileage, and condition.
The total amount budgeted for the purchase of these vehicles is $744,000.00
Options:
1-Award contract as recommended by staff
2-Not award contract and provide further direction to staff.
Recommended Action:
Award contract for the purchase of twenty-four (24) 2018 Dodge Police Charger unmarked vehicles to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Performance Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Clinton, NC.
