Executive Summary:
Mr. Tyrone Williams resigned from office as Council Member District 2 on May 3, 2018. City Council Policy 115.11 - Replacing a Vacancy on the City Council (attached), defines the procedures for City Council to follow in order to fill the vacancy for District 2.

Background:
Mr. Tyrone Williams resigned from office as Council Member District 2 on May 3, 2018. On May 7, 2018, City Council unanimously approved the following actions:
1. Declaring City Council Member District 2 vacant
2. Approval of District 2 Interest Form to be made available to the public by May 8, 2018
3. Interest Forms to be submitted to the City Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018.

The City Clerk's office received a total of twelve (12) applications for District 2 Council Member. Two of the applicants did not meet the residency and/or voter registration requirements and therefore are not valid for consideration.

Valid Interest Forms were received from the following ten (10) applicants:

Patricia Bradley, Len Brown, Daniel Culliton, Vernell Cruz, Bunny English, William Gothard, Phillip MCCorquondale, George Mitchell, Sharon Moyer, George Turner.Each applicant addressed the City Council for a period of up to five (5) minutes during the Announcements section of the agenda at the May 29, 2018 regular meeting.

A Public Forum was held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, to allow citizens the opportunity to address the City Council on matters related to appointing a candidate to fill the vacancy for Council Member, District 2. 27 citizens addressed the City Council.
