Relationship To Strategic Plan:
The Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority provides affordable housing for the Fayetteville/Cumberland County area.

Executive Summary:
The Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority is a governmental entity comprised of eight (8) Board members that are appointed by the Mayor. The Housing Authority is governed by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Authority manages four (4) programs: Public Housing, Section Eight, VASH (Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing) and RAD (Rental Assistance Demonstration). Currently, the Housing Authority owns, manages and maintains 552 Public Housing units and 32 RAD Units. The Authority also administers 1,749 Housing Choice Vouchers and 223 VASH Vouchers.

In 2009, the Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority partnered with United Developers of Fayetteville, NC on the HOPE VI Revitalization Project. Through this project, 249 Public Housing units (Campbell Terrace -194 units and Delona Gardens - 55 units) were demolished in the Old Wilmington Road neighborhood. 642 units of affordable housing were constructed (72 units on Bunce Road and 570 units in the Old Wilmington Road Neighborhood).

In 2015, the Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority partnered with United Developers of Fayetteville, NC on the Grove View Terrace RAD Project. Through this project, 212 Public Housing units are presently being demolished and 272 units of affordable housing will be constructed back on the Grove Street site. The new name will be Cross Creek Pointe
