Executive Summary:
The Council is asked to award a contract for the purchase of Three (3) Chevrolet Forensic Cargo Vans for the Police Department. The recommended lowest responsive bidder is Cooper Ford, Carthage, NC in the total of $98,400.00.
Background:
The City of Fayetteville Purchasing Department sent to prospective bidders an advertisement for Three (3) Chevrolet Forensic Cargo Vans.
The project was first advertised for bids to be opened on April 4, 2021; however, only one (1) bid was received. Therefore, in accordance with North Carolina General Statues, which requires three (3) in order to open the first advertisement, the project was re-advertised and were opened on May 4, 2021
Bid received as follows:
Cooper Ford, Carthage, NC $98,400.00
Staff recommends that Council award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder- Cooper Ford, Carthage, NC.
Issues/Analysis:
There are no known issues
Budget Impact:
A total of $98,400.00 was included in the FY2021 budget for the purchase of these vehicles.
Options:
1. Award contract as recommended by staff.
2. Not award contract and provide further direction to staff
Recommended Action:
Staff recommends Council move to approve the contract for the purchase of Three (3) Chevrolet Forensic Cargo Vans as described herein, from Cooper Ford, Carthage, NC.
