Relationship To Strategic Plan:
Goal IV - Desirable Place to Live, Work and Recreate
4.1 - To maintain public transportation investments with high quality transit and airport services.

Executive Summary:
Council is asked to adopt Capital Project Ordinance (CPO) 2024-11 to appropriate $500,000 of State grant funds for an airfield pavement project. The source of funding is the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Division of Aviation (NCDOT DOA).

Background:
NCDOT DOA awarded $500,000 to the City for capital improvements at the Fayetteville Regional Airport. These grant dollars will fund the environmental and design phases for the rehabilitation of existing Taxiway Foxtrot and supporting lighting to include stub Taxiway Golf. These taxiways provide access to the South General Aviation Apron and Runway 10/28.

The airport runway and taxiway system has undergone full rehabilitation or replacement with the exception of these two taxiway systems that support secondary Runway 10/28. This project finishes the rehabilitation of the airport's taxiway and runway systems.

Issues/Analysis:
None

Budget Impact:
There is no impact to the General Fund as the NCDOT DOA Transportation Grant requires no local match.

Options:
1. Adopt Capital Project Ordinance 2024-11.
2. Do not adopt Capital Project Ordinance 2024-11 and provide further direction to staff.

Recommended Action:
Staff recommends Council move to adopt Capital Project Ordinance 2024-11 as presented...
