Executive Summary:
Council is asked to adopt a resolution authorizing the 6th supplemental municipal agreement with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) providing an additional $1,000,000 in state funds toward the cost of Section C of the Cape Fear River Trail. The revised scope for Section C includes the construction of the trail from the south end of the recently constructed Section A, just north of US 301 (Eastern Blvd), southward to the Cape Fear Botanical Garden property. Capital Project Ordinance Amendment (CPOA) 2018-67 will appropriate the $1,000,000 to the Cape Fear River Trail project.
Background:
On September 23, 2010, the NCDOT and the City of Fayetteville entered into a project agreement for the original scope of construction of the Cape Fear River Trail from Clark Park to the Cape Fear Botanical Garden.
The presented agreement is the 6th supplement to that agreement for the design and construction of the Cape Fear River Trail. The supplement revises the agreement to extend the estimated completion date to December 31, 2019 and to increase the estimated cost and funding for segment C by $1,000,000.
