Executive Summary:
Proposals were received for the agreement for the Ballpark Stadium Signage and Installation Services. The lowest responsive, responsible proposal received is from Sign Art, located in Charlotte, NC in the amount of $145,614.00. The staff is seeking Council authorization to award to the low bidder.
Background:
The City has taken on the responsibility of acquiring certain fixtures and equipment needed to completely outfit the stadium for operation directly. This is referred to as "owner provided" or "owner preference" items. These purchases are made outside the construction contract with Barton Malow. The contractor does, however, continue to have an obligation to coordinate the installation of the owner preference items purchase and provided by the City. Stadium Seating is included among these owner preference items.
Issues/Analysis:
An RFP for Stadium Signage and Installation Services was recently advertised by City Purchasing requesting proposals. Twelve proposals were received. (See attached bid summary):
After thorough review and evaluation, the City is recommending this scope of work and contract be awarded to Sign Art, located in Charlotte NC for a not to exceed amount of $145,614.00. This price includes all labor, equipment, materials, scaffolding and hoisting, to complete the Ballpark Signage as well as the payment and performance bonding required for a project this size.
Budget Impact:
CPOA 2018-50 appropriated $37,885,102 for the stadium project. This included an allowance of $3,900,000 for owner preference items. If...
