Executive Summary:
Bids were received for the purchase of One (1) 18K Excavator, equivalent to the CAT 308 or Kubota KX080. The recommended lowest responsive, responsible bidder is Cumberland Tractor Kubota, Fayetteville, NC, for a total of $91,962.00.



Background:
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission, during their meeting on December 11, 2019, approved the bid recommendation to award the purchase of One (1) 18K Excavator, equivalent to the CAT 308 or Kubota KX080 to Cumberland Tractor Kubota, Fayetteville, NC, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the total amount of $91,962.00. The Commission also authorized staff to forward this recommendation to the City Council for approval.

Notice of the bid was advertised on October 30, 2019, with a bid opening date of November 21, 2019. Bids were solicited from fourteen (14) vendors, and seven (7) bids were received. Bids were evaluated after the bid opening to ensure compliance with PWC specifications. The evaluation concluded that 6 of 7 bids did not meet the required specifications of the excavator; therefore, these bids are non-responsive.
